All patients will be offered a face to face, telephone or virtual consultation, each tailored to their needs.
Assessment with symptom history, relevant medical history and clinical examination.
Prior imaging can be reviewed at this time if provided prior to appointment.
Further investigations may be required. These would be arranged and reviewed in a further appointment and decision made over treatment options.
Often spinal surgery should be a last resort. Most spine related symptoms should be treated with conservative measures. It may be important to exclude more serious causes prior to proceeding down that path.
Conservative treatment may include self help plans (eg. pilates and yoga) or referral to allied health professionals (eg. Chiropractor, Osteopath and commonly physio therapy).
A referral can be made to pain physicians.
Where interventions are needed further discussions are required, including a well-informed consent process for injection therapies or surgery.
Subsequent to intervention further rehabilitation processes will be recommended.
